What makes today's WIAW unique is that it follows my school day at UCLA with my new schedule, class from 10 A.M. to 3:15 P.M. without breaks. Unless you count the 10 minute gap to walk to the next class, which I don't. Determined not to skip meals or get hangry this quarter, I've had to come up with less meal type foods and more snack-y stapes that I could munch on quietly, inconspicuously, and odorlessly in class.
For all you folks with those crazy school / work schedules ~ this one's for you! How to make the most of random, portable, (and gluten free) snacks on a jam packed day,
One thing I love about my new schedule of classes is having relaxing mornings back. I'm a morning person in the sense that I can rise at 6 A.M. and be grinding at the gym at 6:30 - and I used to 3x a week last quarter.
But I much prefer being able to sit down and sip my coffee and have breakfast at home before beginning my day. It just puts me in a calm mood, even if I am still rising pretty early at 7:30.
I was having one of those mornings where nothing sounded too great for breakfast, and then I spied it. The freezer bag of sausage, potatoes, and bell peppers. Well, after my delicious home fries from work yesterday (also on Instagram) I've just been on a breakfast potato kick.
Fried these bad boys up in a pan and chowed down. I wasn't a huge fan of the sausage, but didn't mind it alongside the other tasty veggies.
And okay is it just me or did the "Strawberry Banana Split" used to just be called "Strawberry"? I swear it's the same flavor. And TBH I kinda miss the old bottle...you know the one Dylan and Cole Sprouse from The Suite Life used to be in commercials for all the time ;)
In my final class of the day I unwrapped a new flavor of LARA bar I'd found at the market for the first time last week. Had I not been in class I probably would've moaned kinda inappropriately or let out a loud "OMG" because this bar was straight brownie heaven. Like if you think the other LARA bars are good you're going to scream and if you think Quest bars are good you're most likely going to fall to the floor like the little munchkins in the "Jimmy Kimmel My Parents Ate my Halloween Candy" videos when you taste this.
I got home from UCLA a little before 5 P.M. and decided I was in the mood to do some cardio and chest work, so I whipped up a little snack to fuel me up. I wasn't really that hungry, but I absolutely hate being thrown off by a belly rumble when I'm in my workout zone. Totally breaks my focus.
Two rice cakes with avocado + some melon it was.
Ended the night with some Dove dark chocolates and The Walking Dead. It was the episode where Carl finds like 111 ounces of pudding. Jealous.
Short on time, but the What's Goin' On portion of my usual WIAW & What's Goin' On will be back next week no worries :)
